It's been some time since my last blog.... Partly out of laziness and partly out of lack of inspiration I let the blog fall to the way side.... I've decided I want to blog once a week.... I just want to touch base with where I am and what I'm up to... Also to provide a new recipe....
Currently my weight loss has been completely stalled out.... I've gained and lost the same 5lbs for the past 6 months... there has been a lot of set backs, but I'm slowly getting my focus back and remembering why I started this journey to begin with...
This weeks recipe was thought of while trying to as always substitute higher calorie ingredients for lower ones... One that I always like to play with is pizza...
Here's what ya need:
1 package of premade mush (you can make your own but I'm way to lazy for that!)
1/4cup of marinara/pizza sauce/spag sauce
1 cup of Italian cheese blend
Spray oil
Italian seasoning
Garlic powder
This recipe will make a total of 16.... 2 per serving = 8 total servings....
If my grandpa saw what I was about to do with 'Mush' he'd probably smack me... In our family mush is usually made for breakfast and served with butter/jelly/syrup... All of which I find tasty and delicious however who says that's all you can make with 'mush'?
Take this golden yellow log...
Slice into 16 slices
Bake at 425 for 12 minutes... flip.... 5 more minutes
Divide sauce n cheese amongst your 'crusts'
Sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning to taste....
Place back in the oven for about 8 minutes....
Tadda!!!
Two of these are roughly 115 calories depending on the brands you use.... I ate 4 for dinner (230cal) and was very satisfied.... I probably would have had a nice salad with it if I was a little hungrier....
This was a great substitution and pretty easy to make.... I will definitely keep this in the pizza substitution rotation of recipes....
Be Blessed and Be A Blessing....
xoxo
