Tempted by the devil…. Redeemed by the Lord!

Good morning! The birds are chirping, rainbows bowing, flowers blooming, life is grand! Ok maybe not all that, but I did wake up that is always a step in the right direction!
Wake-up: 5:55am
Weight:  254.6! That’s a total of 17.4lbs lost! Woot Woot! Only 7.6lbs more until I reach my first goal!
Coffee and a shower…. Luckily I had pre-packed my lunch the night before! Blend up a quick protein/fiber smoothie and out and about I go….
Breakfast: I drank the majority of my smoothie while in the car…. Smoothie= 1scoop vanilla whey protein+1tsp SF Orange Metamucil. Once at my desk I consumed a Dannon Light&Fit Strawberry Yogurt! Yums!
8:45 am and the devil starts wagging his finger in my face tempting me when I’m weak from lack of sleep and coffee…. ‘Here Jen’ he calls while waving a giant chunk of birthday cake covered in fluffy glorious icing roses… wait it’s not the devil it’s just a co-work! To my shock and horror it was yet another birthday in this dept!  I looked at the cake blinked and said ‘no thank you’…. Then a second wave of temptation moments later strikes again. This time another co-worker with a different piece of cake! Really!?!?!? Lord, how many times will you allow these people to tempt me? You are supposed to be with me and not letting the devil get at me this way! Again I say ‘no thank you’. It felt good it felt empowering to say ‘No!’ It’s not that I didn’t want the cake. I love cake we all know that. It’s the guilt and shame of eating the cake I didn’t want.  I knew if I ate it I would be mad at myself for always giving in to temptations.  Thank you Lord for giving me the strength to keep on keeping on with my head held high and my belly cake free! On a side note: Don’t you think that 8:45am is a tad early for cake!?! I mean really I don’t know why these people don’t just eat it for breakfast!
Snack1: 2 cups of fruit salad

I realize at this point that I’m having a super hungry day so I start chomping some SF gum.  It usually helps take the edge off of my hunger pangs!
Lunch: TurkeyLoaf, 2TBSP reduced sugar ketchup, 2 cups raw broccoli, 2 TBSP of Bolthouse Yogurt Dressing Honey Mustard Flavor, 2 cups of sugar free jell-o and 1 french fry (not pictured)

I used to love and adore the salty grease from French fries! Every time my co-work gets them I take just 1! I know that seems silly but it lets me have that taste and experience without any guilt! Now if I could just figure out how to track that on my calorie tracker?!
Snack2:  I forgot my usual popcorn at home! Cripes! So I dove into the great unknown of my desk drawer where I unearthed: ¾ of a 100 calorie oatmeal and a trail mix bar. I would have eaten the whole oatmeal, but I spilled some of it in the microwave L

Exercise: 47minutes on the treadmill

Grocery store! Tonight I found a new product:

I love FiberOne! 80 calories for a tortilla?!?! Ah-mazing! I see a breakfast burrito in my future!
Here is my haul:

Here are the ingredients for tonight’s dinner:
Dinner: 1 serving of Ribbons, twirls, and confetti pasta! 1.5servings of Dole Fresh Express Lite Cesear Salad and 4 cheese stuffed green olives! YUMS!

RECIPE ALERT: Ribbons, twirls, and confetti pasta!
1 large zucchini
1 large red onion
1 TBSP chopped garlic
1 box of 8grain whole wheat pasta spirals
Put water on to boil for the pasta! Slice zucchini on a mandolin or with a veggie peeler into long ribbons. Chop onion in to small squarish pieces.  Heat a large skillet w/a lid.  Spray with no-stick cooking spray.  Toss in onion. Sauté until slightly soft(5mins) and add the garlic and 1/8th cup of water(cook another 2mins) (About this time is when you should put your pasta in to cook!) Gently add zucchini, stir and cover for approx 5min until zucchini is tender. Drain pasta.  Mix veggies with past and top with parmesan cheese if desired!
Hold couch down…. Frozen treat! I love the frozen fruit bars! They are soooo super tasty and filling.  I get the all natural ones and they come in at about 80cal.  These are such a great substitution for ice cream.  I can remember many a night where I would sit down and eat a pint+ of ice cream.  Those days are long gone along with the guilt and shame the next morning would bring as I faced my archenemy the scale!
Water: Excellent flow from the fountain today! I guzzled like a man chugging a keg!
Praises: I’m just thanking the Lord right now for keeping me strong and keeping me going.  I know many a times before by this point I’d have given up and been back to my old binge eating ways.  I’m so thankful and blessed that I have people loving, supporting, and praying for me. It means so much that you are reading this blog.  I hope I am able to inspire a spark in you however small it may be.  I believe that is my calling in life to show others the way, by first forging a path.
